It was 2010 when Apple launched AirPlay to the Apple TV, iTunes, iPhones, iPods and the iPad. The Airplay-feature comes with an free software-upgrade to these devices (iOS-upgrade). More about this on the „Requirements-Page“.
Apple TV AirPlayAirPlay allows the user to stream their content to an Apple TV or other devices that have the AirPlay feature enabled. This could be a new music album, a new episode of your favorite tv-show, a blockbuster you bought via iTunes oder a slideshow which you want to show to the audience. So AirPlay is a good feature for business-purposes also.
Before there was AirPlay it was possible to stream music to your Apple TV (both generations) – and to speakers when they are connected to an AirExpress device (the WLAN HotSpot by Apple). With the new AirPlay you could also stream video and slideshows and not just music! So this is a great step when it comes to streaming with your iOS-devices.
How great this feature really is, you will probably notice when you are in a situation when you need it. Think about your evenings in your workweek… you lay on your sofa and watch tv with your wife. Suddenly, you remember there was something you wanted to show your wife. This could be an offer you was looking for with your iPhone when you are on your way home with the bus. So you grab your iPhone an just press the button for AirPlay to show the content of your mobile phone (mobile safari for example) on your tv which is connected to an Apple TV. Isn´t that amazing? But think further… show a youtube video, an e-mail, play your new song or play games with both screens (iPad and Apple TV for example). AirPlay gives you the ability to show what you want on any iOS device you want. And all the content also on a big screen if you own a apple tv.
So you read enough and want to join the fun and use the AirPlay feature? Preferable in conclusion with your Apple TV? Then read more about this on the Requirements an HowTo Pages.
